Urgent: Rainbow Family Stories Wanted Today!

We have been asked to present at a face-to-face consultation with the Expert Panel tomorrow (Tuesday).

YOUR STORIES MATTER – We would like to be able to share your personal stories that illustrate some of the discrimination faced by our rainbow families including our children, and by our LGBTIQ and gender diverse parenting/caring community members when accessing education or services – especially faith-based mental health, family violence, support services, etc.

We are also keen for anyone who lives in a regional or rural setting who has limited access to a range of services and who has examples of how this has impacted on receiving the support you need – stories can be de-identified or anonymous.

For more information please text Felicity on 0411593607 or email your story to: info@rainbowfamilies.org.au

About the author

Veteran gay writer and speaker, Doug was one of the founders of the UKs pioneering GLBTI newspaper Gay News (1972) , and of the second, Gay Week, and is a former Features Editor of Him International. He presented news and current affairs on JOY 94.9 FM Melbourne for more than ten years. "Doug is revered, feared and reviled in equal quantities, at times dividing people with his journalistic wrath. Yet there is no doubt this grandpa-esque bear keeps everyone abreast of anything and everything LGBT across the globe." (Daniel Witthaus, "Beyond Priscilla", Clouds of Magellan, Melbourne, 2014)
