Why the complete silence on the Russian anti-LGBTI pogrom and the threat of a boycott of the Sochi Winter Olympics, to which you have the rights and are currently promoting?

We understand that you are the official Australian broadcaster for Sochi 2014. We get that: but it doesn’t mean you can’t make your (presumed) opposition to Putin’s laws and the IOC’s pandering to the homophobes publicly known, loud and clear.

Official US broadcaster NBC has spoken out and taken a stand (“NBC Says It Won’t Let Russia Hide Antigay Laws During Olympics”), so can you. You should be covering this issue.

You have an amazing opportunity to expose what’s going on over there. By staying silent you are tacitly agreeing with the brutal repression of LGBTI people in Russia. And you don’t, right?

Especially not you guys on The Project.

You should not be glorifying this evil Russian government and transmitting their propaganda without comment. You must ensure that your coverage does not polish the image of this repressive and dangerous country. PLEASE STAND UP FOR OUR PERSECUTED RUSSIAN FAMILY.
Thank you
