A Bad Week For Women, Unless You’re A Rich Man’s Wife

From men in blue ties, through the PM as a KFC Family Bucket, via the ‘playful’ Celebrity Chef Strangling game, the army using women to make porn, through to the horrid reality of the sentencing of Jill Meagher’s murderer, gee, it sure has been a good week for women, hasn’t it?

Only one woman came up smelling of roses. Rupert Murdoch’s soon to be third ex-wife Wendy Deng.  From what the tabloids like to call ‘humble’ beginnings, she has worked her way to riches, fame and celebrity friends for life, swanning around New York with all the stars you can eat.

She began as a career woman, using her brains, but in the end, the career that has really paid off for her is the traditional one. Wife.

Woman taking the modern route of making their own careers have suffered a variety of fates, from daily public humiliation (while occupying the highest office), to the worst one of all, rape and murder, and everything inbetween.

Yet people claim we do not live in a heterosexual-male-dominated, sexist world. Oh really?
